Profile:
I paint, teach and consult because I feel I can communicate my inner most feeling through my work. My goal is to be the best person I can be and share my integrity and enthusiasm through my straightforward and direct approach to life.
I am a painter, and teacher, who speak from the heart. I began as a watercolorist and incorporated acrylics into my style several years ago. Acrylics give me the unlimited freedom of expression and a contempory aspect to my work. It fulfills my desire to work larger, with alternative materials using an intuitive process that imposes no limits. I love the freedom of abstract painting and the discipline of impressionism. I’d like to say that I am in control of the painting process, but I truly am not. The painting is my guide and I allow it to take me to new heights. I adore texture, movement and candor in my work. It is all about reaching the inner depths of my soul and pouring it onto the canvas.
When I paint I am part of another world. I begin a piece by loosely putting color to the canvas. Many decisions go on while painting. It is a give and take endeavor, much like life. I intuitively know when my piece is prepared for the public to view. A feeling of satisfaction and joy comes over me. It is important to me that my paintings bring happiness and evoke an emotional response. All the dreams I have painted in my mind continue to come true.
