Profile:

I was raised, from the time I was six months old, at Lake Tahoe. If
you can imagine a more idyllic place to grow up--snow in the winter and
the beach in the summer--I can’t say. My parents’ house was always
filled with music and books. So it seems I was immersed, early in life,
into a world of beauty and love, and somehow that came, later on, to be
translated for me into a vision of art, which was photography and poetry.
I received a B.A. & M.A. from California State University, Sacramento,
in English (minor in Photography) and a second M.A. in Education as a
Reading Specialist, at California State University, Sacramento.
I have taught reading and English courses at Western Nevada Community
College, Lake Tahoe Community College, Napa Valley College, Solano
College, and Sierra College. I have also taught photography workshops
for the North Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department and the Napa
Valley Parks and Recreation Department. I belonged to the North Tahoe Fine Arts Council and was a commercial artist specializing in portrait photography and landscape photography (film) when I moved back to Lake Tahoe after graduating from college the
first time. I participated in many exhibitions there and sold numerous
works.

I now belong to the Placer Arts Council and I specialize in landscape
and abstracts (digital). I participated in the California State Fair in
the summer of 2007 and won an award in the Fine Arts competition. I am
also a featured artist on the Placer Arts Council web site, on the
Sierra Nevada Virtual Museum web site, and on the National Association
of Photoshop Professionals’ web site. This year, I received an “Editor’s
Choice” award from the National Association of Photoshop Professionals
for a photograph of my cat, Zoey, and I will be participating in
“Wolfstock,” an event day for people and their dogs in Rocklin, where I
will hang a photograph of my brother and his two German Shepherds. In
addition, I have just been accepted into the Blue Line Gallery’s Annual
Juried Open Show which runs from September 2-October 10 this year.
I am honored to be a member of this fine group of artists!
