Jer Jarrett
Oil painting has been Jer's favorite pass time since 1969. She paints for self-fulfillment and the enjoyment of creating. She has had all night affairs with the canvas and brush. There is no stopping her when the paint is flowing and the rush of excitement after completing a painting that is well done.
Jer started painting in Southern California. She studied under Walter Palluth, American Masters of School, and took various art classes and workshops. Before moving to Los Gatos, Jer lived for three years in Paso Robles where she took private art lessons. While living there, she won a 2nd in the San Luis County Fair. She moved to the Bay area in 1976 where she continued her art education with various workshops, private lessons and a few college classes. She was very active in the Los Gatos Art Association, serving several years on the board as Vice President and Treasurer. In 1995, she chaired the Los Gatos Art and Los Gatos Museum Association's Open Juried Show.
She and her husband are founder and board members of “Rocklin Fine Arts.” Both have been actively involved in the development, implementation and success of the Club. Last year she chaired the successful 1st Membership show for Rocklin Fine Arts with the help of many members.
Throughout the years she has tried various mediums but stayed mostly with oil until moving to Rocklin where Pastels became another challenge. She feels you never quit learning and there is always room for growth.
